Five leading universities will receive $12.5 million from the Beckman Foundation for state-of-the-art Cryo-EM instrumentation. In support of the foundation’s mission of supporting research breakthroughs in chemistry and the life sciences, the funds will go to Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Utah and University of Washington School of Medicine. The universities were selected based on their potential to accelerate fundamental research and discovery already underway.
